Aruba.it’s Alvaro Bautista is looking for more after a stunning return to the Ducati fold with a double WorldSBK win at Aragon.

Round two sees the Superbike Championship arrive at the Assen TT circuit with the Spaniard flying high after three determined battles for the podium in his home race on the Panigale V4. A confidence that he intends to use throughout the Dutch event.

“The first weekend of the season was very positive,” confirmed Bautista before the second round. “I had fun and I got the feeling of winning again, but the most important thing is that we have always been fast and consistent.

“We arrive in Assen with great ambitions, of course. The TT is a circuit that I like a lot, even if we can have surprises in terms of weather conditions. It’s a very nice and smooth track, I hope I’ll be as confident as I was three years ago. We will try to get the most out of every race.

The Aruba team was further buoyed by the strong performance of second driver Michael Rinaldi, as the Italian knocked on the door of the podium in all three outings but was unsuccessful. The 26-year-old, however, is determined to fix that issue this time around.

“In Aragon, we started off on the right foot even if the feelings were mixed, recognizes Rinaldi. “We just missed out on the podium in all three races and that left a sour taste in our mouths. Therefore, we are heading towards Assen with determination.

“This track suits my riding style and the bike well: we have to keep improving and aiming for the best results on the podium. I look forward to being on the right track.
