SPOTTED: 2023 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Veloce Q4 on public roads!

A little over a week ago, we were surprised to see photos of a 2023 Alfa Romeo Stelvio pilot model that leaked from the assembly line at the Stellantis Cassino factory. The low-res shot gave us our first look at the first major exterior update to the Italian brand’s most successful model. In this photo, we were shown a new headlight styling update that followed the styling direction of the recently launched 2023 Alfa Romeo Tonale.

Today, a photo made its way around the interwebs showing a 2023 Alfa Romeo Stelvio with black tape over its headlights on public roads. The model appears to be a Q4 “Veloce”, and one thing besides the headlights caught our eye. It now looks like the black plastic trim is now painted to match the body color going forward. This helps the Stelvio look much bigger and more premium than the current model.

The brand will transform its brand into an all-electric range by 2027. Current Stelvio and Giulia models will receive mid-cycle action (MCA) as the models will continue to operate until battery electric vehicle (BEV) replacements arrive . The next-gen Stelvio will arrive first in late 2025.

Although the new headlights are only part of the Stelvio MCA, we know a little more about the new light units.

Tribolo-inspired “3+3” headlight design with new full LEDs evokes the proud look Alfa Romeo SZ Zagato Where the Proteo concept car. Developed in collaboration with Marelli automotive lighting, the three modules form a single front line for the car and simultaneously provide daylight, dynamic turn signals and a “welcome and goodbye” function (activated each time the driver switches the car on or off) to ensure the better lighting conditions. These technologies offer greater efficiency, in terms of durability and energy saving with twice the light intensity of conventional halogen lamps, reduced emissions and improved safety, with less eye strain and better driving comfort. .

Among other things, we can confirm that arriving on the 2023 model year Stelvio is a new fully digital gauge cluster. The fully customizable screen has slowly been integrated into several Stellantis vehicles, across the automaker’s 14-brand lineup.

There will also be an update to the mild hybrid (mHEV) powertrain. We expect it to adopt the same propulsion system as the Ghibli and Levante Hybrid models. Equipped with the proven 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine (GME-T4) found under the hood of many of our favorite Stellantis products, however, for Maserati hybrid models there is a huge power boost for a whopping 330 horsepower and 332 ft-lbs. (450 Nm) of torque at just 1,500 rpm.
