New restaurants in Peoria to eat, drink and caffeinate

The northwest suburb of the Peoria Valley has a few new places to eat and drink with burritos carne asada and liquid nitrogen ice cream, and a half-dozen new places along the way.

Here are some new places to try in the West Valley, and several to look out for in top shopping areas like the newly renovated Park West Mall and the Sunrise Drive, which is anchored by the German grocery store Aldi.

Health note: Due to the strong contagious delta variant of COVID-19 in Arizona, experts recommend alfresco dining, take-out, and social distancing when possible, and for unvaccinated people to avoid crowded indoor spaces absolutely.

At this popular ice cream shop, employees infuse liquid nitrogen into cream bases, where it quickly freezes to create smooth ice cream with flavors ranging from cookie butter and fruity pebbles to plain chocolate. Dairy-free bases are also available.

Taco Flav Taqueria

Hamid Hosseini opened his first restaurant inside a Shell gas station, replacing a falafel shop with Taco Flav Taqueria where diners can enjoy tacos made with charcoal grilled meats, burritos for the little one. -lunch, vegetarian quesadillas and aguas frescas.

Taqueria Tuc-son

Located in downtown Peoria, this taqueria serves taco options like al pastor, cabeza, tripas, carne asada, birria, and pollo. Other items on the menu include quesadillas, burritos, and tortas. Wash them down with Mexican soda, lemonade, or fresca melon.

This drive-thru chain is known for its inexpensive salads, burritos, and $ 1 drinks. A new location is now open on Deer Valley Road and 83rd Avenue.

Mochinut donuts are made with rice flour

This Los Angeles-based chain sells mochi donuts, a Hawaiian invention that uses rice flour to give pastries a chewy texture. The shop also sells Korean sweet and savory corn dogs and boba. Arizona’s first location is now open in Tempe. A second location in Peoria is underway, according to the Mochinut website.

Bosa fritters

This Arizona chain offers classic coffee and donuts, including ice cream, chocolate and sprinkles, apple donuts, and maple bars. The menu also offers breakfast sandwiches and boba. The new Peoria site is part of the rapid expansion of Bosa and is expected to open in October 2021, according to Upper West Side PHX.

This Glendale cafe and bistro is opening a new location at the Park West Mall in Peoria. Menu items include pumpkin toast, a Sicilian muffuletta sandwich, and a version of the Italian shakerato with shots of espresso shaken over ice to create a frothy head and finished with a milk float.

Butta cakes

This Scottsdale bakery makes buttery cakes sold individually or in packs. They come in flavors like chocolate caramel sea salt, strawberry, and cake batter. Butta Cakes is slated to open by December 2021 at Sunrise Promenade.

Harumi Sushi & Sake

The signature Harumi roll is made with tempura shrimp, crab salad and avocado wrapped in black rice and topped with tuna slices, tobiko, grated daikon radish and spicy mayonnaise.

A popular lunch spot for downtown Phoenix workers, Harumi Sushi is now expanding to Sunrise Promenade. In addition to sushi, the Japanese restaurant offers bento boxes containing rice, salad and tempura vegetables. The new site is expected to open in 2021.

Twisted sugar

This Utah dessert shop offers soda, ice cream and cookies made daily in store. Their namesake cookie, Twisted Sugar, is a sweet sugar cookie with coconut and lime frosting. The bakery will open at Sunrise Promenade, according to Thompson Thrift Retail Group.
